Second Half:    Willow Beach to Nelson's Landing (El Dorado Canyon)

Twelve more miles of scenic river, colorful canyons and landforms.

An angular series of red cliffs surrounded the quiet river waters south of Willow Beach.

A short hike above our campsite offered a birds eye view of the dramatic and rugged Lower Colorado River escarpment.

Interesting landforms like Monkey Rock and the caves at Power-line Crossing  just kept coming at us.  Impressive Chalk Cliffs marked the boundary where no water skiing could cross beyond, all the way to Boulder Dam, which made for a much more pleasant journey to that point.

We found Copper Basin to live up to its name as we camped within its luminous landscapes.  As the river widened, we could take in more of the panoramic views of its landforms and shapes.

A morning hike down a remote volcanic canyon full of uplifted layers of strata offered a variety of incredible colors and angles.

We arrived at our final destination on the Nevada side, El Dorado Canyon just below Nelson's Landing on top of the bluff, and carried our boats 300 yards to the closest car access road where we were met by our shuttle van and trailer.  The entire journey from Boulder Dam to Nelson's Landing took 6 days and was well worth the nominal shuttle and permit fees for all the unique experiences and enjoyment found in these canyons.
